Who is preparing the Waste DPD?

The six councils of Merseyside and Halton have decided to work together rather than tackle the issue separately and have appointed Merseyside Environmental Advisory Service (Merseyside EAS) to prepare the Waste DPD.

The Councils direct the work of Merseyside EAS through a Steering Group of senior council officers. At key stages, progress on the Waste DPD is reported to the City Region Cabinet.

The Waste DPD is driven by the six councils and will, upon adoption, become the statutory land use plan that they use to base decision making on waste management planning issues.

Prior to any consultation, reports are subject to regular scrutiny from the councils via the Steering Group and full approval from various committees prior to being published for public consultation.
